I wanted to sum up the year in this way......The kids all did great, mine and all the other kids in our small 4-h group. The way I determine a great year isn't all the prizes, ribbons, and feed we won. The way I measure a good year is by the growth I see in character. It's the times that we had to learn sometimes you don't win anything, and you still should be happy for those who did. It's the times when you start to get cocky because you have won some nice things, and then you lose and have to learn humility over again. It's learning that showing isn't all fun, it's messy and hard work and exhausting, and if you get lazy it shows in your performance. It's having fun with your team mates and cheering them on too. It's helping other 4-h groups set up for their show so you can learn how to do the same and maybe put on a show in your town when you get it figured out. It's early hours, long drives, and lots of poop. I'm proud of all of our kids this year. Many of them got some ribbons, or prizes of some type, but more than that I saw friendships and character grow by bounds this year! Congrats! Now I'm gonna go picture crazy......
We have come to the end of another year of showing fancy feathered chickens. We had a blast, but I am ready for a break and I'm sure the kids are too. I love this show because it's run by our future breeders. I support 4H it's an awesome organization. I'm still a volunteer in Parker County. The 4H did an awesome job and handled all aspects of the show with great detail and possitive attitudes. Can't wait to see everyone next show!

Thank you. Yes I agree. We would have never known about fancy feather shows if it weren't for our 4-h. All my kids love it, but my son lives and breathes chickens. We are grateful to the Fancy Feather's 4-h group for letting our Georgetown group help out so we can learn how to possibly put on a show in our town in the future.
