Around here we tend to make fun of our winter weather because everything shuts down when ice or snow is mentioned. It's not so funny when you are trying to grow a garden and have 80 degrees one day and 30 the next. This last front came in faster and harder than we were expecting. We got down to 17. Honestly Glenn and I weren't sure what to expect. We made row covers and got everything wet down and mulched and then all we could do was hope that it was enough. I have to say when we saw the temperature Monday morning our hearts sank and we really figured everything would be dead.
Today once it got above 40 I decided it was time to face the music. I'm stoked to say everything looks great! The swiss chard is the only thing that doesn't look super happy aside from a few plants that the plastic probably touched. I think they will pull through too though. Next step, make it through the crazy March winds we normally have.
